post-op 7/12/05
first forgive my spelling--i'm typing the best i can with the use of one eye--well i finally had my surgery two days ago on the 12th of july and everything went as well as can be expected--the mohs surgery to remove the skin cancer went real well--dr. lou got all the cancer cells out in two phases but the area to be repaired was larger then she originally expected it to be--then the reconstruction went well--dr. rodgers didn't have to do a skin graft--instead he made a flap of skin from around the area so all the skin will match after it's all healed which will take about two to three weeks--he used about 75 really tiny stitches to close up the wound and make the flapp because the smaller the stitches the less scarring--i had my first post-op appointment with dr. rodgers today and he was quite perplexed as to why my upper eyelid had become swollen--he said it was either a reaction to the tape they use after surgery or a reaction to the anethesia so he prescribed and antibotic that i'll have to take for 10 days--i've really had no pain from the first inscision by dr. lou to the post-op today just a little discomfort--i guess all went well--we'll see over the next couple of weeks as it heals--the only thing that's really driving me crazy is that it itches a real lot--thanks to stan and toots for transporting me to and from all my appointments and holly just for being holly--i love you all--well i guess that's all for tonite--nite
